What in the world do I wear to my engagement shoot?

Ever catch yourself scrolling through Pinterest saving cute ass outfits that you wanna recreate only to then realize, dang.. I need to go shopping! Pinterest is a great way to find inspo for your engagement shoot looks, but don’t go down a huge rabbit hole and charge crazy moolah to your credit card like a mad person — been there, done that lol. I’m Cejay, one of your favorite Bolivians and I’m here to share some tips on making this part easy peasy.

Think complimentary.

Pick colors that look good on you and also compliment your partner’s outfit. For example, blue and purple, green + yellow, red + purple. Check out the color wheel and embrace color if that’s your vibe.

Play it neutral or keep it shady.

For our “black is my favorite color” babes. Black is always a classic and chic whether it’s black jeans or a black dress, black is always sexy. Or want to stick within the same color scheme? Play with the shades!

Break out the pattern.

Gotta love a good print. These can be fun and also another way to show your personality. Patterns can also be a bit distracting and let’s be real, the real stars of the show are you two not your shirt so bust out the pattern but make sure it doesn’t steal your thunder. We suggest keeping it to one of you wearing the pattern while the other meets it with a neutral look. These babes understood the assignment:

Exercise your right to accessorize.

Accessories can be another way to show your personality. Bring out that leather jacket, cool hat, or shoes. Be bold, be YOU.

One thing we can tell you for sure is that your engagement shoot is a moment to have FUN + celebrate this marker of the next chapter in your story. Maybe run a comb through your hair so that bedhead ain’t crazy for this shoot or remove the chipped nail polish (lol things I tell myself on the daily) — but other than that, stick to what feels good + comfortable.
