Spending Sunday in New Orleans celebrating these two was a dream. Every wedding is such an honor and continued reminder of why we love our job so much. Brian and I started off splitting up while we captured our couple’s getting ready moments. If you didn’t watch our stories that weekend, the venue was overflowing with inspiration in every corner. Race and Religious has a beautiful energy the moment you walk past its gates. The house, the courtyard, OMG the pool! It truly is a dream of a venue. And we can’t forget about the bomb staff that helps bring things together for the couples that grace the space. The staff at Race and Religious are warm and welcoming from the very first contact.
As I found myself in awe of this space’s beauty, I explored it’s gorgeous corners with Amanda’s beautiful dress. As we went on our little adventure through the halls of Race and Religious, Brian was hanging out with the groom and his crew grabbing shots of them getting ready.
Early afternoon looked like rain, but right before the ceremony, the drizzle cleared and these two exchanged their vows while their fam and friends cheered them on. Marking the end of the ceremony, Amanda wanted to represent both her cultures and selected a broom that was made in the Philippines to honor her African-American tradition as she and Brian jumped over the broom as a symbol of their commitment to the next chapter in their lives. Soon after they walked down the aisle, a second line was waiting to celebrate them. Brass-filled notes infused the air as these two were wrapped in bliss.
This perfect warm evening continued on and laughter, tears of joy, the clinking of glasses filled the night sky as the guests danced the night away to the Paynes’ love.
