Summer Carnival Engagement Photoshoot

Getting creative gets us by, and having the chance to tag along on a themed date with Sam + Eddie was everything. They’re very into all things pop-punk, emo, and halloween.

The inspo for this shoot was punk rock take on the Grease carnival date scene. We also looked at a few carnival scenes from Stranger things and Zombieland to get in the right creative headspace. Sam + Eddie went for timeless looks that were both true to themselves and the look we were after. Sam with a Olivia Newton John baddie look, and Eddie with a touch of Nightmare Before Christmas.

We shared a beer and watched a sweet cover band to settle into the environment before starting the shoot. Once we did, we pretty much just followed them through the carnival and placed them in a few settings along the way. They grabbed some popcorn, cotton candy, and had a blast while we documented their summer love story.

This is exactly what engagement shoots are for. Think on this – you’ll most likely be spending the majority of your wedding day with us nearby. There’s no better way to break the ice and for us to get a feel for your dynamic – especially one set in & around an activity like this.
