Our beautiful Parker came through with some fire tips for our couples that are planning a destination wedding.
A little bit about Parker besides her being a gorgeous woman is that she is a badass nurse. She was kicking ass and saving lives while planning BOTH of her destination weddings. First up, a beautiful wedding in Leon, Spain. SPAIN y’all. Like, whoa. Still in pinch us mode. And if Spain wasn’t already magical, Parker and Alvaro then got married in Georgia in front of the gorgeous waterfall at Chota Falls Estate. Both weddings were a dream. Over the moon gorgeous locations, decor to die for, food and music to set the tone and above all, beautiful and warm people that filled the spaces with their happy energy for the newlyweds.
We naturally wanted to pick Parker’s brain on how the planning went down and any helpful tips she would want to share with any future couples planning their own destination wedding. Here is what Parker had to say:
1. Make sure your destination wedding is in Spain 😉
2. Don’t get too caught up on the details. Since you can’t visit before the wedding, there are going to be things that you weren’t expecting, but will all turn out to be absolutely beautiful!
3. Have a wedding planner! My mother in law planned our whole wedding. I picked my venue, dress, and my flowers and I loved every bit of it. I know most brides don’t like this, but it made the whole process so fun. (Make sure the venue is the one you want because that is the most important part and everything else will fall into place)
4. Don’t be upset if some people you really care about can’t come. It’s really expensive to fly and some people just cannot afford it but would do anything to be there. Have a party afterwards to celebrate with them!
5. Take CeJay and Brian with you. They are amazing and so good at finding amazing picture spots on the fly!!
There you have it babes. Straight from a bride that keeps it real. Remember to let go on the day of, enjoy your moment with your people even the ones that may not have made it physically, but are with you from a distance.
